The Roofing Alliance will host a special fundraising reception during NRCA’s Fall Committee Meetings in Nashville on Thursday, Nov. 9, to raise funds for the Melvin Kruger Scholarship Fund.
The Roofing Alliance firmly believes that education is the cornerstone of growth and is committed to education, training and providing scholarships to deserving students to pursue their academic dreams, regardless of financial status. To address this challenge, the Roofing Alliance has established a Matching Scholarship Donation Program to benefit its Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Program. The campaign goal is to raise $400,000 to fulfil the overall goal of a $2 million endowment that will benefit the next generation of roofing industry professionals.
This year’s fundraising reception will be held Thursday, Nov. 9 at Analog—a chic venue in The Hutton Hotel from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. and feature live, local entertainment by Two Story Road, a vocal powerhouse duo that has racked up almost 20 million streams.
“The Roofing Alliance has been fortunate to receive generous contributions from individuals and organizations who share our vision to empower promising students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential and a strong commitment to their communities, and now it’s time to take the program to the next level,” stated Alison L. LaValley, CAE, Roofing Alliance Executive Director.
The Roofing Alliance Melvin Kruger Endowed Scholarship Program offers three scholarship opportunities, including an accredited post-secondary institution scholarship, career technical education scholarship and diversity scholarship. All categories are open to employees of roofing industry companies, their spouses, and their dependent children, as well as construction management students enrolled in undergraduate level or students enrolled in CTE programs or schools (regardless of industry affiliation).
“By participating in the Roofing Alliance’s Matching Scholarship Donation Program, industry professionals can double the positive change that their contribution can bring, help shape the future of our profession and impact the lives of talented students who are eager to learn about the roofing industry,” stated Greg Bloom, 2023-24 Roofing Alliance president and Vice President-National & Strategic Accounts for Beacon Building Products.
