The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute’s Mountain States region’s Board of Directors has named Jim Schneider as the region’s new executive director.

Schneider was most recently with VT Industries, a leading door manufacturer. Since 2015, he had been the territory sales manager for the mountain states, working with architects in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming.

Schneider was manager, external communications, in the marketing department at PCI’s headquarters from 2004-07. He was editor of Ascent magazine and was heavily involved in PCI’s branding, marketing, and communications efforts. He also has been the editor of several business publications, including Eco-Structure, Plumbing Engineer, PHC News, and Metalmag.

“I’m happy to be back in the industry, and I’m looking forward to working with the members of PCI Mountain States to raise the profile of precast concrete in this part of the country,” Schneider said. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. He is a LEED AP and is passionate about efficient, sustainable design.

“We are excited to have Jim Schneider taking the reins,” said Dan Parker, board president of PCI Mountain States Region.  “Jim comes from a marketing and sales background and has worked at PCI headquarters. We believe Jim is the one to help us grow the precast concrete market in our region. He has jumped in with both feet and we are eager to see where his leadership takes us.”

PCI Mountain States is one of 11 regional PCI-affiliate organizations across the United States that supports its members at the local level. The organizations provide many services to producers and to key decisionmakers in the construction industry, including continuing education, precast concrete design assistance and building resources, workforce development, and university support.
