Visitors flocked to Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute member plants last month to learn about the precast, prestressed concrete industry as part of 2024 PCI Precast Days, October 7-18.

Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) members gathered for 2024 PCI Committee Days in Nashville, Tenn., September 23-27, to recognize the accomplishments of many deserving members. 

The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) Central Region has named Matt Ballain as its new executive director. Ballain has served many roles with PCI and is the current Past Chair.

Ed Sullivan, the Chief Economist and Sr. Vice President of Market Intelligence for the Portland Cement Association says the Federal Reserve’s recent move to lower interest rates coupled with easing inflation signals a significant retreat in interest rate levels by the end of next year.

This latest issue is packed with the latest coatings products on the market, and a focus on a new trend in building restoration—deep energy retrofits.

Members of the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute are welcoming students and other visitors to their plants for 2024 PCI Precast Days, which started Monday and lasts through October 18.

Under her new title, she will continue to oversee all PCI programs under the Marketing Council and Education Activities Council, serve as liaison to local PCI chapters and partner affiliates, and work with the PCI Foundation on its education efforts. 

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced that it has selected PCI, National Precast Concrete Association, and the American Concrete Pipe Association to receive a $9.95 million grant in EPA’s Reducing Embodied Greenhouse Gas Emissions for Construction Materials and Products Grant Program.
