LEWISVILLE, Texas — Metl-Span, a division of NCI Group Inc., has opened its seventh manufacturing facility devoted to the production of the company’s Envolution™ line of architectural insulated metal panels and custom fabrication. The new 109,000-square-foot plant is strategically located in Colonial Heights, Va., and is ideally positioned to serve the eastern United States.
Envolution by Metl-Span combines the latest in architecture, technology and engineering to produce state-of-the-art products for the modern and LEED-qualified building envelope: insulated metal panels, windows, trims and accessories. In addition to the new facility, Metl-Span’s Texas plant has been upgraded with new equipment and processes to enhance fabrication capabilities.
“When we were trying to explain the direction we wanted to take with this business, we emphasized our desire to provide a complete building envelope solution,” said Jeff Irwin, EVP and general manager. “Envelope. Solution. Envelope. Solution. That was it: Envolution!”
Irwin said Envolution provides architects and designers with the support and services they need to handle most design challenges. “Whether you’re designing a building that has the aesthetics of a football or a spaceship or most anything else, we can help you do it,” he said. “We can provide panels that are folded, curved, tapered or require special edge joints or special widths to satisfy virtually all custom designs.”
The Envolution product line includes insulated metal panels, window systems and custom accessories, and, in association with Doralco Architectural Metals, provides a complete building envelope solution incorporating Vantaj™ ACM and aluminum plate panels, sunshades and grilles, light shelves, column covers and louvers.
