Simpson Gumpertz & Heger has welcomed senior leaders Brian Pailes and Dustin Turnquist, who bring advanced corrosion and materials engineering capabilities and project experience to the firm’s Engineering Mechanics & Infrastructure group.

The 14 high school and college/postsecondary students will serve as advocates for SkillsUSA and career and technical education and will lead two national conferences, facilitate sessions for students and instructors and advocate on behalf of SkillsUSA.

The 120 scholarship recipients are undergraduates in their junior and senior years, majoring in architecture, civil/structural engineering or construction management/technology across the country.  

AEI initially announced the project winners during its in-person annual Awards Ceremony in San Jose, California. 

Central States has named Ahmed Abdelaal to the new role of Vice President of Engineering and Operations for the Central States Building Works division.
