The International Interior Design Association (IIDA) announced the winners of the 50th annual Interior Design Competition and the 31st annual Will Ching Design Competition.
IIDA announced Erika Moody, FIIDA as the 2024-2025 president of the IIDA International Board of Directors, with Stacey Crumbaker, IIDA, Assoc. AIA elevated to the IIDA president-elect. Also elected to the International Board for a new term as vice president is Vibhavari Jani, IIDA.
The annual competition allows design students to highlight their creativity and vision while also gathering insights and experience with leaders of the industry.
The home-improvement network also has inspired generations of new architects, like Allison Winn, a third-year interior design student at the University of Oklahoma’s Gibbs School of Architecture in Norman.
FitzGerald announced that Elma Milanovic has joined FitzGerald as a Managing Associate. Elma joins FitzGerald with 20 years of experience in workplace, mixed-use residential, and senior living design.
JCJ Architecture announced that the Martin Luther King Jr. Campus has been honored with the Award of Merit in the “Interior Architecture” category in the 2022 AIA Connecticut Design Awards. Demonstrating JCJ’s resourceful design approach, the campus provides a next-generation learning environment in an existing building with significant historic features and strong sentimental connections to Hartford’s Blue Hills neighborhood.
The fourth-generation architect and interior designer is a renowned workplace designer with 30 years of experience designing for the likes of Google, IBM and Microsoft.
Trahan Architects announced that it was awarded the AIA Georgia 2021 Excellence Award for Interior Architecture for its design of the Coca-Cola Stage at the Alliance Theatre located in Atlanta, Georgia.
