Saint-Gobain has started up operations at its new electrical powerhouse on its flagship manufacturing campus in Worcester, Massachusetts, which is projected to reduce the site’s carbon dioxide emissions by 50%.
CertainTeed has announced the finalists for its CertainTeed Gypsum Trophy Awards, which recognizes contractors’ work across North America – each at the forefront of drywall design, installation, sustainability and craftsmanship.
Saint-Gobain, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed LLC, will install recycling technology at its gypsum plant in Palatka, Fla., increasing the recycled content in its wallboard products manufactured in Palatka by 18,000 tons/year while also reducing the site’s carbon dioxide emissions by 2,260 tons/year.
Saint-Gobain, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed LLC, received the 2022 Better Project Award from the U.S. Department of Energy for the company’s recycling program at its gypsum wallboard plant in Silver Grove, Kentucky on May 18.
Inherently non-combustible and more lightweight than masonry or cement board, gypsum gives commercial designers, engineers, and builders an easier path toward fire resistance compliance for interior and exterior walls.
The objective of the redesign is to efficiently and effectively provide the construction and design communities with technical expertise on gypsum panel products.
