Western Specialty Contractors - Chicago Branch has received the 2021 International Concrete Repair Institute Chicago Chapter “Project of the Year” Award for its concrete restoration work at Extra Space Storage in Chicago.

The PCI Industry Diversity Committee formed four years ago to provide programming to celebrate women in the precast concrete industry. Its mission is to create awareness around the value of diversity and an atmosphere of inclusivity in the precast, prestressed concrete industry. 

The American Concrete Institute has recently approved a new position statement on the topic of civil/architectural/structural engineering curricula.

The project features 369 luxury apartment units in 11 stories, an attached 725-stall parking structure, and 3898 ft² of restaurant space.

The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute has hired Timothy Cullen as the director of technical activities. Cullen will be responsible for technical activities for developing and disseminating the PCI Body of Knowledge necessary for designing, fabricating, and constructing precast concrete structures.

The International Concrete Repair Institute announced the election by the membership of new officers and board members for the calendar year 2022 and John McDougall, with Baker Roofing Company, Inc. as its President.

The PCI Design Awards program recognizes design excellence and construction quality using precast concrete.
