The Climate Action Museum announced its winners for the Climate Action Hero Awards on April 7, 2025. Advanced Architectural Products (A2P) has been awarded the Green Tech award, recognized alongside nine other incredible individuals, companies, and organizations that also put climate mitigation and environmental impact at the forefront of their objectives.
About CAM and the Green Tech Award
According to the Climate Action Museum (CAM), the Green Tech award acknowledges an organization that develops new technology or new ways of using existing technology to further CAM’s mission. CAM’s mission statement of activating a tipping point on climate mitigation in the Chicago region through education, stimulating critical thought, and inspiring and facilitating action. By leveraging composite metal hybrid properties, GreenGirt CMH™ and SMARTci® combine the strength of steel with the thermal efficiency of composite materials to eliminate thermal bridging and increase R-values in walls, roofs, and window assemblies – dramatically reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions in Chicago, across the U.S., and globally. GreenGirt CMH continuous insulation and SMARTci building enclosure systems have been used on thousands of projects across the US with hundreds of hospitals, schools, high-rises, and other buildings in Chicago to achieve 92-99% energy efficiency – including Chicago’s Lawson House renovation, the Academy for Global Citizenship, Malcom X College, plus the massive Baird Convention Center expansion in nearby Milwaukee.
Advanced Architectural Products’ Environmental Contributions
Systems from Advanced Architectural Products can be used to help buildings meet LEED energy efficiency thresholds and earn LEED certification. Advanced Architectural Products has also developed an easy-to-use calculator to quantify energy savings for specific buildings. And, for full transparency, GreenGirt CMH and SMARTci are free of red-list materials/chemicals and have both a Declare label and Environmental Product Declaration. Advanced Architectural Products is a proud founding sponsor of the Climate Action Museum with several GreenGirt CMH products featured on displays through the museum.
One of A2P’s latest products, GreenGirt CMH XO™, embodies the initiative for innovative technology that combats climate change. This system elevates envelope performance through a composite metal hybrid continuous insulation system for windows, creating innovation for window design in modern facades. A2P engages in climate action and how the building industry can resolve harmful greenhouse gas emissions through educational webinars and climate-forward design tools.
Located in West Michigan, Advanced Architectural Products is at the forefront of developing innovative systems for modern building challenges.
