The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) announced that The Honorable Garret Graves, former U.S. Representative for Louisiana’s 6th Congressional District, will deliver the opening keynote address at Building Innovation 2025, one of the industry’s premier gatherings focused on the built environment.
The conference, taking place May 19–21, 2025, at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner, will bring together thought leaders, innovators, and decision-makers from across the building industry to explore cutting-edge strategies for resilience, mitigation, and sustainability.
Congressman Graves will open the second day of the event, speaking on May 20 from 8:00 to 9:05 AM, with a keynote focused on the growing impact of natural hazards and the urgent need for resilient infrastructure. Drawing from his extensive experience in disaster relief and infrastructure planning—particularly in Louisiana, one of the nation’s most hazard-prone regions—Graves will offer critical insights for the future of climate-ready communities and buildings.
“Representative Graves brings a unique perspective and proven leadership on issues at the intersection of infrastructure, resilience, and public policy,” said [Insert Name], [Insert Title] of NIBS. “We’re honored to welcome him as our keynote speaker and look forward to the important conversations his address will inspire.”
Building Innovation 2025 features a robust schedule of expert keynotes, interactive panels, and educational sessions, along with multiple networking receptions for industry professionals. The event provides a vital platform for collaboration across sectors as we collectively shape the future of the built environment.
