Saddle River Day School (SRDS) broke ground on its new Dr. Kristen Walsh Hall of Science & Entrepreneurship, a facility designed by DIGroup Architecture (DIG) to enhance the school’s academic offerings in STEM and business education. The event, hosted by the SRDS Board of Trustees, included a ceremonial groundbreaking and a luncheon attended by the school community.
Designed by DIG, which has specialized in education spaces since its founding in 2006, the 32,000-square-foot building will introduce 15 classrooms, four small-group instruction rooms, four science labs and flexible spaces for robotics, engineering and entrepreneurship. The facility will also house a commons, collaboration areas and a new admissions center to support new student recruitment and engagement.
“We are honored to work with Saddle River Day School on this forward-thinking project,” said Jeffrey Venezia, Principal at DIG. “This facility’s architecture will provide students with modern, adaptable learning environments that cultivate scientific discovery, an entrepreneurial mindset and technology fluency, which is essential for educating tomorrow’s leaders.”
The Dr. Kristen Walsh Hall of Science & Entrepreneurship is part of SRDS’s Building the Future Campaign, which also includes a new turf field and expanded parking. Once complete, the facility will serve as a key academic hub, furthering the school’s mission of providing students with the tools and resources needed for success.
