Precis Engineering + Architecture, an award-winning design firm with locations in Cary, NC, and Ambler, PA, has made a strategic director hire and promotion in the Cary office. Sunil Mehta, CAP, PMP, has been hired as Director – Automation, bringing high-level automation expertise to the region. David Bock, PE, LEED AP, has been promoted to Director – Project Management, extending his oversight to project management operations, financial performance, quality control, and staff development.

Mehta is a Certified Automation Professional (CAP) and Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 20 years of experience leading automation projects in the life sciences, food and beverage, and automobile industries. His expertise includes Emerson DeltaV integration, batch solutions design, control system architecture, application development, simulation, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) documentation, commissioning, and personnel training. He has served as a subject matter expert for digital transformation initiatives at multiple client sites. As Director, Mehta oversees automation deliverables and strategizes to deliver tailored automation solutions. Mehta holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and is a member of the International Society of Automation (ISA) Raleigh-Durham Chapter. He resides in Cary.
Bock joined the Cary office in 2019, previously serving as Project Manager and Senior Mechanical Engineer. With over 15 years of expertise, Bock has led mechanical engineering projects, maintained client interactions, and excelled in the design of energy-efficient and dependable mechanical systems for life science, higher education, mission-critical, and commercial facilities. Bock holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and is a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) Carolina-South Atlantic Chapter and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Triangle Chapter. He also lives in Cary.
