The Architectural Glass and Metal Technician (AGMT) certification program for glaziers announces Frameless Hardware Company (FHC) as the Premier Sponsor of hands-on performance-based testing during GlassBuild America 2024, Sept. 30-Oct. 2, in Dallas, Texas. FHC will cover up to 50 percent of testing expenses for every participating glazier and will provide materials and supplies for testing.

“FHC has a responsibility to be a good corporate citizen and to invest in the industry. As staunch advocates for education and training, we see how AGMT elevates the playing field, increases quality, and creates a standard,” said FHC Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Haring. “This sponsorship sets the stage to provide impact and visibility to the AGMT program, spreads the message of our support, and facilitates access to certification for more companies and individuals.”

AGMT is North America’s only third-party personnel certification for experienced glazing supervisors and technicians. The event marks the first time AGMT testing will occur in a public forum, with the opportunity for the glazing community to witness the testing process live on the floor of the industry’s largest annual trade show. Additional support for AGMT testing has been provided by the National Glass Association (NGA), which hosts GlassBuild, and by the Painters & Allied Trades Labor Management Cooperation Initiative (LMCI).

“AGMT is grateful for the sponsorship of FHC, both to minimize testing expenses and to promote the value of certification to a wider audience,” said AGMT Technical Director Ben Beeler. “Through the support of FHC, NGA, LMCI, and the thousands of glaziers who have earned AGMT certification, the program is elevating the industry one credential at a time.”

Glaziers must have at least 7,000 hours of work experience and a minimum of OSHA 10 certification to qualify. The performance-based test at GlassBuild will encompass a full day of hands-on testing, including curtain wall, storefront, layout, weather sealing, structural sealing and safety. Only glaziers who have pre-registered and met program prerequisites will be eligible to test during GlassBuild.
