YKK AP America Inc. (YKK AP) announced the appointment of industry veteran Ken Martinek as architectural sales representative for the Los Angeles Sales Branch. Martinek will serve the states of Arizona and New Mexico, where he will be responsible for building long-term customer relationships with commercial architects and glazing contractors.

Martinek comes to YKK AP with 24 years of industry experience, and with a proven track record of expertise in sales operations. Martinek has been consistently recognized for his expert leadership in guiding teams to exceed sales goals through a combination of innovative sales and marketing strategies, strategic partnerships, and strong account management and problem solving skills.

“Ken comes to YKK AP with a wealth of experience in the architecture, engineering and construction industry, and a particular depth of knowledge when it comes to architectural design and development,” said Mike Turner, president, commercial sales business, YKK AP America. “We are confident Ken will serve as an innovative partner to architects and glazing contractors in Arizona and New Mexico as he works alongside them to achieve their goals.”

Martinek is a member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) Phoenix chapter and the Arizona Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects. He is also actively involved with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Arizona. In 2019, he was awarded the Chairman’s Award, a significant individual honor bestowed by the Chair of the AIA Arizona Fellows.
