CBP Architects Managing Partner Nancy Beckner Bastian, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP, has been elevated to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows, the AIA's highest membership honor. AIA Fellows, designated by the FAIA after their names, are recognized for exceptional work and contributions to architecture and society. Only three percent of AIA members have earned this distinction.
"Each project is an opportunity to create beautiful spaces for those who don't often have a strong voice advocating for their needs."
- Nancy Bastian
Over 35 years in practice, Nancy has devoted her career to innovative and thoughtful architecture brought to life with sincerity and humanity. Her influence ensures every project incorporates elements that spark joy, pride, and a sense of shared experience. Her projects have earned awards for design, urban development, sustainability, and community impact. Through her laser-focused commitment to the city of Philadelphia, Nancy has become a regional expert, vocal advocate, and trusted resource for a wide range of housing typologies, from affordable to market-rate projects, ensuring a place to call home can be accessible to all. Her leadership extends from CBP Architects to AIA Philadelphia, ULI Philadelphia, the Development Workshop, and the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations, among others.
Nancy joins four other AIA Philadelphia members and is among just 96 members nationwide to be elevated to the 2024 College of Fellows. Nancy and the other honorees will be celebrated during the AIA Conference on Architecture & Design to be held in Washington, D.C., in June.
