Jonathan Humble, FAIA, NCARB, LEED BD+C, regional director of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) Construction Technical Program, was presented with the Cool Roof Rating Council’s (CRRC) Lifetime Award at its annual meeting held on June 14, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was recognized for his many years of service and contributions to the CRRC.

His efforts led to the development of ANSI/CRRC S100, Standard Test Methods for Determining Radiative Properties of Materials and its subsequent versions, as well as its adoption in various codes including the International Energy Conservation Code; the International Green Construction Code/ASHRAE Standard 189.1; ASHRAE 90.1, Energy Standard for Sites and Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings; ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301, Standard for the Calculation and Labeling of the Energy Performance of Dwelling and Sleeping Units Using an Energy Rating Index, and adoption by various jurisdictions.

“We congratulate Jonathan on receiving the CRRC Lifetime Award,” said Dan Snyder, vice president, construction program for AISI. “We appreciate his leadership and expertise over the years in assisting the CRRC to develop fair, accurate and credible methods for evaluating and labeling the radiative properties, such as solar reflectance and thermal emittance, of roofing and exterior wall products.”
