SPRI, the association representing sheet membrane and component suppliers to the commercial roofing industry, announced that it is partnering with FM Approvals to create a new standard “Test Standard for Comparative Pull-Over Strengths of Membrane Fastening Systems and Waterproofing Membrane Materials Used with Low Slope Roofing Systems where Stress Plates are Used for Waterproofing Membrane Securement.” The proposed standard will be canvassed for approval as an American National Standard.
The proposed standard is based on the FM Approvals existing small-scale test procedure for Membrane Plate Pull Over. It will provide basic requirements and procedures for determining the maximum failure load of waterproofing membranes and fastening systems when tested for membrane pull over resistance in both symmetric and asymmetric stress plate loading scenarios.
Those wishing to participate in the canvassing process should contact SPRI at info@spri.org.
