Minnesota-based commercial glazing contractor Brin Glass Company has earned North American Contractor Certification (NACC). Brin has become the second in Minnesota and 59th overall to earn the credential. NACC is an ANSI-accredited, award-winning, third-party certification that recognizes architectural glass and metal subcontractors who adhere to best practices for glazing quality, construction safety, and business operations. By earning NACC, Brin affirmed its voluntary commitment to meeting high construction industry standards.
“At Brin, we understand that quality craftsmanship and safety are paramount to our clients,” said Brin Executive Vice President Ryan Torgerson, who spearheaded the certification process. “We are proud to have earned this certification and to be able to offer our clients the confidence of knowing that they are getting best-in-class products and service.”
“Our commitment to providing quality service and workmanship has been a priority since we opened our doors in 1912,” added Brin President and CEO Bill Sullivan. “NACC is a great way to demonstrate to our clients that we are dedicated to delivering the highest standards of excellence.”
The Brin contract glazing management team, including department heads Patrick Lawrence, Spencer Schnacky, Jason Weld, and Jeff Criswell, worked with NACC administrators over four months to undergo a series of rigorous assessments and to implement standard written documents including a quality management system (QMS), a program requirement of all certified contractors. To maintain certification, Brin will be reevaluated annually to confirm its business and glazing practices remain at the high standards NACC requires.
Brin offers contract glazing and fabrication capabilities, utilizing state-of-the-art technology and experience to provide commercial clients with architectural glass and aluminum facades. Brin’s contract glazing team serves general contractors, developers, and property owners for both new construction and renovation projects. Recent work has included the Highland Bridge development in St. Paul and the St. Olaf College Residence Hall in Northfield, both completed in 2022. Projects currently in progress include the University of Minnesota Microbial Cell Production Facility in Minneapolis and the Southwest LRT METRO Green Line Extension in Hennepin County.
“By making a commitment to certification, Brin Glass Company joins other glazing subcontractors actively working to strengthen and improve construction quality,” said NACC Program Administrator Jeff Dalaba. “NACC gives peace of mind to building owners, architects, construction managers, and insurers. Hiring a credentialed glazing subcontractor reduces stakeholder risk by providing verified evidence of adherence to the highest standards and best practices.”
Since its 2015 launch, the NACC program has certified 60 glazing subcontractors in 20 states and Canada. Over 70 more companies are progressing toward certification in 2023. Glazing contractors can earn the NACC credential in one or more of eight categories based on the company’s operations: interior and entry systems, building envelope low-rise, building envelope high-rise, active glass, guardrails, service work, interior glazing, and horizontal glazing. Brin Glass earned NACC in all eight categories.
