The metal construction industry’s only global event dedicated exclusively to the application of metal in design and construction offers a host of networking opportunities in Indiana.
Based on their new book “The Power of Networking: Company Industry, Community,” Heidi Ellsworth and Karen Edwards of RoofersCoffeeShop will host a panel discussion including guest speakers, LeeAnn Slattery, Sales Support Manager, ATAS International and Arty Molinari, Building Enclosure Solutions Specialist, Tremco CPG, Inc. The Power of Networking takes place in the main theater on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 3.00 p.m.
Attendees will discover how to harness the power of networking and learn how to improve their networking skills in this interactive workshop as they proceed step-by-step through the complimentary workbook. Participants will explore company, industry and community networking opportunities, and learn how to effectively use live events, associations, online communities, press and social media to build networks and utilize them for career, company and sales success.
Immediately following is a fun, live social networking event—Social Networking Bingo, an icebreaker where people mingle until they find others who match the facts listed on their bingo-style sheets. Business/company owners, sales professionals, young professionals, mentors and anyone else who is ready to take their networking skills to the next level will benefit from these events.
For rising stars, up-and-comers, management trainees, apprentices and others, roughly ages 40 and under, ready to take their careers to the next level, the Future Leaders of METALCON program offers the ultimate networking event. Emerging professionals can gain the knowledge, insights and tools needed to advance through this exclusive education program, From Employee to Manager: Transitioning to a Management Role, which takes place on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 3:00 p.m., followed by a dedicated happy hour & networking event in the theater.
“We have planned a whole host of networking events for Indy this year,” said Judy Geller, Vice President of METALCON. “This year’s show is truly dedicated and designed to promoting networking, and we have created three main interactive hubs for this reason.”
For those looking to learn about insulated metal panels (IMPs), a visit to the IMP Pavilion is a must. Sponsored by the Metal Construction Association’s IMP Alliance – dedicated to the promotion and growth of the use of IMPs in the construction marketplace – this pavilion comprises seven leading companies that produce 85% to 90% of all IMPs shipped and produced in the U.S. and Canada.
The Metal Building Marketplace
This dedicated pavilion features top metal building and components manufacturers, creating a convenient hub for contractors, the design and architectural community, and others to discover the solutions these companies can provide.
Featuring a series of events over two days focused on the application of metal in design and construction, this “show-within-a-show” will help architects, designers, specifiers and engineers breathe new life into projects and solve a wide variety of architectural, structural, environmental and building performance challenges―all through the use of metal. Exclusive education sessions specific to design professionals will feature respected thought leaders, award-winning architects and industry experts. Additionally, a special architects-only guided floor tour is planned.
Of course, given Indy is home to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, METALCON together with sponsor CIDAN Machinery is offering a fun Race Car Simulator Experience, which takes place throughout the duration of the show at Booth #300.
"These are just some of the many events designed to meet the needs of our attendees who are traveling from all over to gather with the metal construction industry’s finest—all in one place,” said Geller.
METALCON takes place at the Indiana Convention Center, Wednesday, Oct. 12 – Friday, Oct. 14 with pre-show workshops beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
