The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) announced its partnership with Procore Technologies, Inc., a leading global provider of construction management software.
With a mission of connecting everyone in construction on a global platform, Procore helps firms increase efficiency and accountability by streamlining and mobilizing project communications and documentation. As the construction industry continues to face a massive labor shortage, Procore and NCCER see an opportunity to educate, train and attract students and individuals to the industry.
Through this partnership, Procore will work with NCCER to develop new technology-focused curriculum and educational resources, with the goal of strengthening the connection between technology and the trades.
“We are proud to partner with a leading construction software company like Procore,” said NCCER President and CEO Boyd Worsham. “Their experience and expertise with innovative technology will be a valuable asset as we continue to push construction education into a new age.”
Procore is a founding member of CareerStarter, a new tool powered by NCCER’s Build Your Future (BYF) initiative that provides career-seeking individuals direct connections with local training programs and entry-level jobs. Through the generosity and support of industry sponsors, the CareerStarter service will be free of charge to individuals, schools, training programs and employers.
Beyond providing software, Procore invests in construction education and innovation through Procore.org, which seeks to advance the construction industry through advocacy, education and technology. Procore.org customers receive free access to Procore’s software and curriculum and include educators who are preparing the next generation of construction professionals and training centers tasked with the job of upskilling the trade professional.
"Procore cares about workforce development because we are built solely for the construction industry." said Sasha Reed, Director of Industry Advancement at Procore. "We see the challenges facing our customers due to the labor shortage. This is why we’re investing in enhancing content while increasing awareness of construction career paths. We believe partnering with NCCER will allow us to maximize our reach in attracting young talent into the trades. To date, we are the proud providers of product, training and certifications to more than 30,000 students in 10 countries.”
