After closely monitoring the status of the ongoing worldwide Coronavirus pandemic, the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) will transition its Fall 2021 Membership Meeting from Oct. 25-27 to a virtual event in lieu of meeting in person.
Following projections from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of increases in Covid cases tied to the surge in the Delta variant, NFRC has decided to avoid the risk and potential threats to members and staff by convening in person and instead hold the meeting online.
“While we are disappointed that we won’t be meeting in person, NFRC has demonstrated a keen ability to run virtual meetings. In March 2020, our staff had just 10 days to pivot from an in-person to a virtual meeting,” said Deb Callahan, NFRC CEO. “We became a model for other industry groups to emulate. Our green building, emerging technology, and other industry webinars have been welcomed additions to our meeting offerings and we’ve received many accolades about this content as well as our virtual happy hours. I have every expectation that the Fall 2021 Virtual Membership Meeting will be professionally and expertly executed and offer the same valuable information so important to the fenestration industry.”
After three successful virtual meetings in 2020 and 2021 and a series of webinars and online events, NFRC will continue to deliver the latest innovations and advancements in the fenestration industry at this virtual Membership Meeting. Opportunities are still available to connect, get involved, learn about the organization, and help shape the progress in energy-efficient windows, doors, and skylights.
The schedule remains unchanged at the three-day online event. Attendees will hear from researchers and scientists from national labs and private industry on how to bring revolutionary technologies to market that foster more energy-efficient windows, doors, and skylights. Other highlights include opportunities to network, discussions during committee block meetings, updates to the revised commercial program, speakers from federal agencies on new government initiatives, and a preview of the improved Window Selection Tool of the Efficient Windows Collaborative.
In the last 18 months NFRC members and participants have shown that NFRC’s progress doesn’t stop when we can’t meet in person, and we still plan to have a productive and engaging virtual meeting on Oct. 25-27, 2021. Registration is open here, and we encourage you to register before the early bird deadline of Sept. 25.
