ATAS announced a new course being offered to architects and designers: “Designing with Metal Wall Panels”. The course is approved by the AIA (American Institute of Architects) for 1 LU/HSW, and can be given virtually, or in person at a firm’s office.
During this course, you will learn about metal wall panel substrates and coatings, and the basic requirements of a wall panel assembly. The different types of metal wall panels will be discussed, along with basic detailing and flashing components.
With this new addition, ATAS now offers ten courses that are all approved by the AIA for 1 LU/HSW, as well as two plant tours (one of a facility which manufactures building components from metal, and the other of a metal coil coating facility). Four of the ten courses are also approved for 1 GBCI CE hour (Green Business Certification, Inc.), and two of the courses are available online, on-demand. David Weidl, ATAS’ Architectural Business Development Manager, said, “The addition of this education program covers the fundamentals of Metal Wall Panel Systems, their substrates, profiles, and finishes. This allows participants to learn and grow into our Intermediate Level Courses, with specific program development targeting deeper sessions with increased technical information, alongside current practices and topics. The Designing with Metal Wall Panels course presents the opportunity to learn or refresh your understanding of how Metal Wall Panel Systems evolved with Building Envelope Technologies and the ability to differentiate the range of costs while incorporating Sustainability into your next project. I feel this addition will quickly become one of our most popular courses.”
