Building enclosure professionals across North America will participate in the first-ever Virtual IIBEC Convention and Trade Show this coming June 12-14. The International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC) has pivoted to present the unprecedented virtual meeting as a response to the postponement of its annual convention due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All 24 previously planned cutting-edge educational sessions, an opening session, and a virtual trade show will be provided. All attendees previously registered for the annual convention in March 2020 will automatically be registered for the live virtual event. Attendees will have access to the virtual education and trade show until July 15 to allow extended time to view every education session offered during the virtual event.
Instead of catching a few of the previously scheduled concurrent sessions, participants will be able to attend each of the sessions and all of the trade show booths from the comfort of their own homes and offices. Exhibitors can connect directly with their customers through live chat. Outside of the designated trade show hours, the live chat feature will turn into an email that goes directly to the exhibitor. Full registrants will also receive a digital proceedings including papers from all of the educational sessions.
Registration is also open for new attendees and exhibitors. Register here.
“This is very exciting for us,” said Convention Chair and IIBEC First Vice President Ted Sheridan. “We are thrilled to be offering this unique education opportunity in which to learn about new products and techniques, and for providing a new way of connecting.”
In addition to the upcoming virtual convention and trade show, IIBEC is announcing the IIBEC Building Enclosure Symposium+ (BES+), to be held Nov. 20-22, 2020 at the Marriott Marquis Houston in Texas. At that event, a dozen educational sessions by imminent industry professionals will be presented. The BES+ trade show will also be expanded to provide exhibitors an opportunity to interact face to face with attendees.
“The pandemic has made IIBEC more resilient and innovative,” said IIBEC President Scott Hinesely. “The virtual convention and trade show will highlight that. And the building envelope consulting community can look forward to interacting face to face at the BES+ in the fall.”
Other events not included in the June virtual meeting, such as the annual awards luncheon to honor IIBEC volunteers, will be incorporated into the BES+.
“We look forward to seeing you virtually in June and in person at the BES+ in November in Houston,” said IIBEC CEO and EVP Brian Pallasch.
