Jordan Levin, AIA, has joined DLR Group to lead firm’s Culture+Performing Arts Studio in California. Levin brings thoughtful solutions, seamless coordination, and building performance expertise to the growing team.
For over 25 years, Levin has specialized in the design and construction of civic, higher education, museum, and performing arts facilities. His experience as a musical artist has broadened his depth and understanding of performing arts venue design and gives him a unique perspective of what it means to perform on stage in front of a live audience.
“Jordan believes in the importance of creating supportive environments that are designed to elevate the human experience. He perfectly embodies the talent we’re seeking to further grow our practice in California,” said DLR Group Senior Principal Paul Westlake, FAIA, IIDA, who leads DLR Group’s global Culture+Performing Arts Studio. “He adds a competitive edge to each project, especially given his layered experience and insight into the mind of a performer, as he fully understands how these spaces should be designed to better cater to the end user.”
“I’m thrilled to join DLR Group, and plan to use my new role as an opportunity to discover innovative design solutions that further serve our growing communities,” said Levin. “We’re at a time in history in which humans have reached a tipping point in the stability of our global environment, and as designers we have the responsibility to steer the dialogue and design in a positive self-sustaining direction.”
Levin received a bachelor’s degree in architecture at University of Maryland and a master’s degree in architecture at Yale University. He is an active participant in industry organizations, including the American Institute of Architects and the American Association of Museums.
