Schöck North America has received ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification, announced Christian Witt, president and CEO. The certification was granted after an independent certifying body evaluated Schöck’s quality management systems implementation against the requirements of the International Organization for Standardization.
"By obtaining this certification, Schöck is demonstrating its commitment to provide products and services that meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements in North America," comments Witt, adding "We want our customers to have every confidence that our products and our staff will perform to the highest quality standard."
The Schöck North America team underwent a rigorous series of internal and external audits of its management systems, product delivery, customer services and documentation protocols.
The company manufactures Isokorb® structural thermal breaks designed to provide thermal insulation and structural integrity at building envelope penetrations such as balconies, canopies, parapets and slab edges, and within structural elements such as walls and floors. They also offer expansion joint dowels and punching shear reinforcement products.
ISO is an international standards setting organization that developed the ISO 9001 certification to provide a universal system of quality assurance. Its purpose is to ensure a strong customer focus, and to motivate and hold accountable top management to strive for continual improvement in products and services.
In October 2019, the company announced receiving a fire rating certification by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for its concrete-to-concrete structural thermal breaks, the first supplier of these products in North America to receive this distinction.
Schöck North America is a division of Schöck Bauteile GmbH, of Baden-Baden, Germany. In addition to the United States and Canada, Schöck has ISO 9001 certified sales and manufacturing locations in Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom.
