Martin Gollwitzer has joined global architecture firm Perkins and Will as director of operations for the firm’s Houston studio.
“We’re thrilled to have Martin on board,” said Diana Davis, principal and managing director. “His unique understanding of both the design and business sides of architecture makes him the perfect fit to lead our operations as we continue to expand our practice.”
A native Houstonian, Martin comes to Perkins and Will with more than 15 years of experience in architecture and interior design, working throughout his career in the education and science sectors. Notably, he has a strong background in project management, business development, client relationship management, and studio operations for firms of all sizes.
“Design, particularly the operations side, is something I have been drawn to since childhood,” says Gollwitzer. “Perkins and Will’s commitment to design, as well as its focus on empowering industry professionals of all levels, makes the firm a natural fit for me. I am thrilled to be joining.”
Martin’s passion for the strategic process, the creation of memorable spaces, and team collaboration will be key as he works closely with other firm leadership to ensure seamless operations. One of Martin’s other main areas of focus is helping to set a vision for the future of the Houston studio.
Martin holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the International Academy of Design in Tampa, Florida. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional, as well as a Certified Document Technologist. Martin is a founder, past president, and board member of the 7x24 Exchange Texas South Chapter; a member of the Rice Design Alliance; and a member of the Young Patron Steering Committee for Stages Repertory Theatre.
