EYP Architecture & Engineering announced that David A. Deis, AIA, LEED AP, has been promoted to managing principal of the firm’s Atlanta office. In addition to his responsibilities as project director, Deis will provide overall leadership for business development, design and operations within the Atlanta office.
As managing principal, Deis will enhance EYP’s brand and visibility in the Atlanta region, maintain optimum utilization of the local staff, drive high-level project performance, and attract and retain exceptional talent. Additionally, Deis will play a role in mentoring junior staff through the development of programs that provide the proper resources and support to attain their professional goals.
“David has an impressive background in project management, with a proven track record of design excellence and success,” said Scott Butler, chief executive officer of EYP. “In addition, David is highly regarded by his staff for his ability to lead and advocate in their best career interests.”
Prior to EYP’s acquisition of Stanley Beaman & Sears, Deis served as senior project manager and senior associate. His past notable projects include St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Kay Research and Care Center Renovation and the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
“I want to cultivate EYP’s Atlanta office into a locus of emergent design thought, national expertise and the cultural exchange of ideas and information,” said Deis. “My goal is to seek out partnerships in the Atlanta community and the Southeast region, offering a unique approach to design that will promote success of our partners and their mission.”
Deis received his Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and his Bachelor of Science from the University of Maryland.
