The American Institute of Architects (AIA) annual conference will be held in Las Vegas from June 6 through 8 and feature an exciting  panel discussion with  two noted architects, a distinguished editor and moderated by Abby Suckle, FAIA, Design Principal, Abby Suckle Architect PC. 

The panel conversation: Architecture in Context will feature Emre Arolat, Hon FAIA, Founding Partner and Principal Emre Arolat Architecture, Marlon Blackwell, FAIA, Marlon Blackwell Architects, and Cathleen McGuigan, editor in chief of Architectural Record.  The event will take place at the Westgate Pavilion II, located at 3000 Paradise Road in Las Vegas from 1:30 1o 2:30 PM on June 8th.

The architects and editor will discuss the broad topic of “context” in their work,  focusing on factors such as Place, Culture, Program and Time. 

EAA - Emre Arloat Architecture is a global practice and some prominent designs of the firm include:  A marina complex on the shores of Yalikavak, Bodrum (2011-2014); the Antakya Museum Hotel, built above an existing archeological site in Antakya (2014- 2019); the SantralIstanbul Contemporary Art Museum, (2005-2009); and the Dalaman International Airport (1999-2006), and the Sancaklar Mosque (2011-2013), a building that blends perfectly with the landscape and manifests Emre’s multilayered effort at reading, researching and understanding the ‘context’ in order to reveal the specific features of a project rather than a formalistic attitude, among others.

Emre Arolat will be invested as an Honorary Fellow at a ceremony in Las Vegas to be held on June 7, 2019 at the AIA Conference on Architecture 2019.
