The architecture and design firm Andrew Franz Architect PLLC has announced the promotion of senior architectural designer and project manager Anne Mason Kemper to the level of Associate, where she will take on expanded roles in leading the firm and its building projects.
According to the firm’s founding principal, architect Andrew Franz, AIA, LEED AP, this new appointment responds to the firm’s growth path and expansion of capabilities, with new large-scale commissions for residential clients as well as growth into cultural, institutional, multifamily residential and commercial markets.
“As a firm, we are always exploring new solutions as we respond to design challenges and client needs,” says Franz. “By promoting Anne to this new position, we are confident that she will help direct and cultivate some of our most significant commissions and building projects, bringing to bear her diverse and valuable skills in architecture, interior design and communication.”
Anne Mason Kemper joined Andrew Franz Architect in 2011 as an architectural designer. She has been involved in the management and design of several of the firm’s major residential projects including the just-completed East End House, the acclaimed Meadow Beach House, and the widely
published Tribeca Loft, which has been covered in Dwell, The New York Times and Architectural Digest Germany. Kemper has also been involved in hospitality, workplace and institutional projects at the firm.
Kemper studied Art History at Rice University followed by a one-year studio at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation in New York City and Paris. She went on to earn a Master of Architecture degree from Yale University’s School of Architecture, where she was selected as a teaching fellow and received design honors including the prestigious Frederick Bland Scholarship and the Rome Drawing Seminar.
With this new promotion, Andrew Franz Architect’s increasingly experienced and recognized design team led by Franz and North Keeragool, an associate and assistant design director, will continue to produce award-winning designs for workplace interiors, residential homes, and commercial and institutional works. Some of the firm’s upcoming building projects include a sustainable “shared” two-family home in Upstate New York and a full-floor loft
apartment near Madison Square Park in New York City. A recent workplace project earned honors as finalists in the Interior Design Magazine’s Best of Year Awards and the U.K.’s World Interior News Awards.
Andrew Franz Architect creates engaging spaces that are thoughtfully detailed and highly functional with a rich, modern sensibility. In projects ranging from commercial and cultural facilities to private houses and apartments, the design team emphasizes the user experience and meaningful connections to the natural environment. “As we continue to expand into new market sectors, Anne and the rest of our design team will play important and growing roles in facilitating project solutions and forging lasting client relationships,” says Franz. “Anne’s work style and thoughtful shepherding of design ideas compliments our process exceptionally well. Her role as associate will help us expand not only our visibility but also our leadership and design capacity for increasingly complex architectural commissions.”
