Vitro Architectural Glass (formerly PPG Glass) has published a brochure featuring Acuity low-iron glass, a new product that offers better clarity and color fidelity than conventional clear glass at an affordable cost. The new brochure can be downloaded at www.vitroglazings.com/acuity.
The 4-page booklet contains performance data for Acuity glass in 1-inch insulating glass units (IGUs) with Vitro Glass’s full range of Solarban solar control, low-emissivity (low-e) glasses, and for a standard monolithic 1/4-inch (6-millimeter) configuration. Detailed product descriptions for Acuity glass with Solarban 60, Solarban 67, Solarban 72, Solarban 90 and Solarban R100 glasses also are provided, along with information about fabrication capabilities and glass dimensions. Acuity glass is available through the Vitro Certified Network of glass fabricators.
Glenn T. Miner, director of construction, Vitro Architectural Glass, said Acuity glass meets architect demand for crisper, cleaner glass facades. “We created Acuity glass to satisfy designers’ thirst for a product that can eliminate the inherent green cast of regular clear glass, and is still affordable within most budgets,” he explained. “Acuity glass really delivers on all points, providing greater transparency and truer color rendition for vision glazing and spandrel glass applications, all for a modest investment.
When paired with select Solarban low-e glasses in a 1-inch IGU, Acuity glass can achieve visible light transmittance (VLT) of up to 73 percent. Solar heat gain coefficients (SHGCs) range from 0.23 to 0.41.
