Architects, interior designers, and others in the AEC Industry are encouraged to attend the industry’s first ever focused event on Wellness Architecture, DESIGNWELL, taking place January 22-23, 2019 in San Diego, California.
The program will be focused on how nature, materials, and design come together to benefit human health and performance within the build environment. The challenges of improving design for better human health and performance have created new business opportunities for architects, interior designers, and other AEC professionals. Pre-registration will be required for the event and both AIA learning units and CEU’s from various industry associations will be available.
Bill Doherty, ICDevents President, noted “Design in the AEC community is set to change to focus on how human health and performance can be improved in the built environment over the next decade. We put together this exciting new conference to highlight these new practices and help the next generation improve design and ultimately improve health.”
Eric Corey Freed, Architect & Author, and part of the Conference’s speaker lineup stated, "Innovation and progress comes from getting the right people in the room and sharing our stories. I’m so excited to be part of this group working on constructing healthy, vibrant buildings for everyone. I can’t wait to see the ideas that come from this conference."
Also joining the speaker lineup is Blake Jackson, Sustainability Design Leader & Associate at Stantec Architecture. Jackson a WELL Faculty and Fitwel Ambassador will be presenting a discussion on the both WELL and Fitwel rating systems within the built environment.
“Having an event that directly deals how the design, construction, and operations of the built environment impacts health and wellness, is a turning point for bringing this important issue to the forefront of our industry and to the public which it serves. This event highlights the importance of intentional design, construction, and operations of our built environment, as it impacts the health and well-being of all, by bringing together top talent from across the industry to share, educate, and inspire one another towards better health-focused outcomes,” said Jackson.
