Roofing Codes: Liquid-Applied Roofing
Section 1505.15

SECTION 1505.15
LIQUID-APPLIEDROOFING
The installation of liquid-applied roofing shall comply with the provisions of this section.
CODE INTERPRETATION
This code implies that all liquid-applied roof systems and materials are subjected to the same type of testing as all other roof materials. Liquid-applied materials are non-synthetic roofing materials that are often termed as ‘cold-applied’ materials because hot bitumen is not employed in the application process.
The liquid-applied materials—and fluid-applied materials—are increasing market share in the U.S. roofing market. Some of the performance characteristics that are required include durability, elongation, waterproofing capacity subject to hydrostatic pressure, and ultraviolet protection.
