Western Specialty Contractors has acquired the 125-year-old Western Roofing Company of Kansas City, MO to merge with its existing Kansas City Roofing Branch and expand its roofing business in the Kansas City, MO area.
Kansas City Roofing Branch Manager Keegan Tune and his team of eight will join the acquired Western Roofing staff at its headquarters at 3119 Bell Street. Chip and Jane Manson, owners of Western Roofing, along with two office employees and 17 field workers will stay on board to assist Tune in growing the branch office.
Western Specialty Contractors President Jeff Kelley said Western Roofing was an ideal candidate for acquisition, based on the values and similarities shared by both companies.
"Western Roofing takes great pride in their longstanding history of quality workmanship, industry expertise and a dedication to their customers that mirrors the same core values of our success," said Western Specialty Contractors President Jeff Kelley. "Western Roofing has been in business for 125 years and has been family-owned and operated since 1893. Western Specialty Contractors is also family-owned and has been in business for 103 years. This acquisition further supports our strategic vision of maintaining and restoring buildings and structures from the roof down."
Established in spring 2017, Western Specialty Contractors' Kansas City Roofing Branch provides maintenance, repair and replacement of commercial flat roofs. Western Specialty Contractors also has a Kansas City Branch Office, established in 1945, that provides commercial building cleaning, concrete restoration, epoxy and chemical grout injection, expansion joint systems, exterior wall coatings, masonry restoration, parking and plaza deck restoration, and waterproofing.
"We will have the same team in place to serve our customers' needs, but will have the additional support of Western Specialty Contractors' 103 years of experience in the roofing, waterproofing and restoration business, which has grown to be one of the largest specialty contractors in the United States," said Chip Manson in a letter to his customers regarding the acquisition.
