The ASTM International committee on performance of buildings (E06) is sponsoring the Symposium on Whole Building Air Leakage: Testing and Building Performance Impacts, April 8, 2018, at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, California. The workshop will take place in conjunction with the April standards development meetings of the committee.
The symposium will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas related to current air leakage research, the attention on trends in whole building air leakage, design criteria, construction, and performance verification, and identify opportunities for new and revised standards.
Topics for this symposium include but are not limited to:
- Whole building air leakage testing of large or complex buildings,
- Whole building air leakage of residential buildings and compliance with codes and above-code program requirements,
- Whole building air leakage rates and their impact on load calculations and energy modeling results, and
- The cost of whole building air tightness and the ROI in BECx and whole building air leakage testing.
