Reflecting its growth and continued dedication to close and collaborative client relationships, the architecture and interior design firm Spacesmith, recently announced the addition of Roger Marquis, who will take on the position of Client Relations and Business Development Director.
According to Spacesmith’s founding partner, Jane Smith, FAIA, IIDA, Marquis will help the firm expand its reach and increase its presence within established markets, while strengthening visibility in new sectors. “Roger's broad marketing background, collaborative mindset, and keen business sense bring a perspective that's particularly important for Spacesmith as we continue to grow our firm," she said. "His experience and attitude will be instrumental in developing new relationships and continuing longstanding ones, and will help cement our reputation for a unique focus on client goals. We view Roger as a true strategic partner for our clients, and we're excited to have him join our team."
A respected marketing professional, Marquis brings many years of experience in high-level strategic and brand development in a variety of fields with value for Spacesmith. Across industries including architecture and engineering, financial services, technology, publishing, and retail, he has gained recognition among peers and client groups as a dedicated and creative resource.
Active in varied industries and in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) world, Marquis writes and participates in industry forums. His latest article, to appear in the February 26 edition of the Zweig Letter, an influential media outlet, describes new ideas in marketing strategy for AEC leaders.
In his new role, Marquis will build on Spacesmith’s strong reputation and extensive roster of clients in the workplace sector, which includes recent new
headquarters projects for Abrams Books and leading financial technology companies such as MarketAxess. Marquis also plans to leverage Spacesmith’s active role in the retail sector, which includes work for global luxury brands and household names including Hérmes and Avon. With experience in higher education and public-sector projects, Marquis will also play an important role in expanding the firm’s longstanding academic and municipal work, which includes recent wins like a contract for the New York Police Department.
This appointment comes at a time of growth for Spacesmith, as the firm recently opened a second office in Hudson, N.Y., where it is active with varied clients there and in the Capital Region. With increasing visibility in New York and across the United States, Marquis’s strategic support will underscore Spacesmith’s commitment to its core values of highly crafted, client-driven solutions as the firm pursues new initiatives in emerging market sectors.
