TowerPinkster announced the growth of its engineering services to include structural engineering.
The addition of structural engineering services is a result of TowerPinkster’s strategic plan to enhance the firm’s professional service offerings and expand its renowned design quality and capabilities. Firm leadership continually evaluates its services and recognized that a structural engineering team would fit flawlessly into its organization and complement its vision. The multi-discipline firm will now offer architecture, mechanical, electrical and structural engineering, interior design, landscape architecture, and planning services.
“With the creation of a structural engineering department our project teams will be able to offer clients another level of services and capabilities,” said President and CEO Bjorn Green. “This addition will allow us to strengthen our position in a highly competitive marketplace.”
Matt O’Callaghan, PE, SE, has joined the TowerPinkster team to lead the structural engineering department. O’Callaghan has over 10 years of experience in structural engineering and holds both professional civil and structural engineering licenses. He most recently led the Structural Engineering Department at a global firm in Grand Rapids. His areas of expertise include industrial facilities, student housing, medical laboratories, bridges, aviation centers, and many other building types. Matt earned his Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and his Master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
“Joining TowerPinkster appealed to me because of the opportunity to start and grow its structural engineering department,” said O’Callaghan. “I am excited to be part of a team known for its fantastic culture and that is passionate about delivering great, collaboratively-driven projects to our clients.”
O’Callaghan said that he enjoys structural engineering because he has the capability to take a client’s vision and an architect’s sketch and assist in bringing the vision to life. He is motivated by the variety of projects that he is able to work on in his position, especially those showcasing structural elements.
“With the addition of Matt to our firm, we are able to enhance our level of service and knowledge for our projects and use his expertise to partner with current and new clients,” said Director of Professional Services Don White. “We are excited to have him start and lead our structural engineering department.”
Matt will be traveling between TowerPinkster’s Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo offices. He can be reached at (616) 719-4234 or mocallaghan@towerpinkster.com.
