The Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI) will host a webinar on “Essential Concepts for the Meticulous Navigation of Cold-Formed Steel Regulations” on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. The webinar is designed for architects, engineers, building officials and contractors. Participants are eligible for 1.5 PDHs.
The webinar will cover the connection between many of the legally required and voluntary regulations that impact the cold-formed steel framing industry. It will begin with an exploration of the relationships between International Code Council (ICC)-developed model codes and the referenced standards within those model codes, such as standards from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) and ASTM International.
Code-required and voluntary Green Building certification programs will also be addressed. Regulations affecting the steel supply chain will be reviewed, including Buy America, Buy American, Domestic State requirements, Conflict Mineral laws and the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act. The webinar will conclude with a summary of how these regulations all tie together and affect the cold-formed steel framing industry.
The webinar will be conducted by Adam Shoemaker, CDT, LEED AP – BD+C, Code Development Manager for ClarkDietrich Building Systems, who represents the company as an active and voting member of various code bodies.
