Simpson Strong-Tie, the industry leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions, will feature its innovative, award-winning Strong-Wall Wood Shearwall during the Pacific Coast Builders Convention (PCBC) at the Moscone Center in San Francisco on June 22-23. The product was one of only 20 selected to win a 2016 Parade of Products PCBC award, given by the California Building Industry Association for the top products representing the best in innovation and new product solutions.
The Strong-Wall Wood Shearwall offers a redesigned prefabricated wood shearwall that provides greater installation flexibility for contractors and additional design options for specifiers. It features a holdown with visible front, back and side access to make it easier to install the anchorage attachment in various framing conditions. The front access opening also allows for easy inspection of the connection to the anchor bolt.
Simpson Strong-Tie will also showcase the new CBTZ concealed beam tie. The CBTZ provides a structural and concealed connection for installations that call for hidden joinery rather than standard beam-to-post connections. It offers a clean look for custom outdoor living spaces, such as pergolas and patio covers, and exposed interior framing.
In addition to the wood shearwall and concealed beam tie, the booth will feature several fasteners, including the new Strong-Drive SDWH Timber-Hex HDG screw and Strong-Drive SDWS Framing screw. The Strong-Frame special moment frame and various anchors will also be on display.
