BNP Media announced the strategic acquisition of three leading publication brands, Architectural Record, Engineering News-Record (ENR), and SNAP.
Considered “the record” of architectural history, Architectural Record is a monthly magazine that has been dedicated to architecture and interior design for more than 110 years. ENR is a weekly magazine providing news, analysis, data and opinion for the worldwide construction industry. SNAP is a newer publication devoted entirely to covering building products and provides readers a quick and accessible way to learn about the latest product news, trends, statistics, events and more.
The publications were acquired from Dodge Data & Analytics LLC. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
BNP Media—a fourth generation family-run company, originally founded in 1926—has more than 90 brands catering to 7 distinct industry markets. With its leading business-to-business publications, research, digital products, and events, BNP Media is committed to helping industry professionals succeed by providing superior information through its industry expertise when, where and how they want to receive it.
“The brands we have acquired have a magnificent reputation, unparalleled reach, and limitless opportunity. And, they complement perfectly BNP’s strong presence in the construction, engineering and architectural industries,” said BNP Media co-CEO’s Harper, Mitchell and Taggart Henderson. “By integrating these businesses into BNP Media and executing the same centralized management techniques applied across all of our brands, we ultimately will help strengthen the design, construction and building industries by expanding the publications’ offerings to building professionals.”
BNP Media’s Troy, Mich.-based team of talented, experienced professionals will afford greater efficiencies and enable economies-of-scale for the production, products, sales and distribution of the newly acquired publications. The company will work to ensure critical data and industry news continues to be delivered while enhancing analytics and tools to better serve construction professionals.
The co-CEOs added: “From continuing education, market research and digital strategies, to e-newsletters, webinars and social media, BNP Media will be able to capitalize on the strength of our existing resources to broaden the scope of the acquired publication brands. As a committed owner, our existing management team will begin work immediately to revitalize and help ensure these brands remain on a strong foundation with the added resources for long-term success. As a team of creative professionals, we create and globally deliver targeted, timely, superior information via a wide variety of insight, services and media that brings our customers closer to their customers.”
BNP Media will expand its Troy workforce to support the acquisitions.
