LAS VEGAS — EV&A Architects, a Las Vegas-based architecture firm, announced that Matthew Burns has been named as the firm’s vice president.EV&A Matthew Burns

As part owner of EV&A, Burns brings more than 12 years of experience in commercial and industrial projects and is familiar with all phases of work, ranging from entitlements to contract administration. Acording ot the company, he is an integral part of the production team working closely with the principal, designers and clients to coordinate efforts of all outside consultants, from the beginning of the schematic phase throughout the completion of the project.

“My goal is to attract some of the best talent in our profession while providing the finest customer experience,” said EV&A Founder and Owner Ed Vance. “Burns’ experience, talent and creativity serve as a role model for exactly what this firm strives for within our team.”

Originally from Southern California, Burns attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he earned his Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science degree. He was involved with AIAS Las Vegas and was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society. He currently maintains continued involvement with the professional organizations as an Associate AIA member and is part of the Emerging Professionals/Young Architects Forum.

Burns is an expert in sustainable design, gained through his master’s thesis studies, specifically day lighting and education, and is currently preparing for his LEED AP exam. He has completed his Intern Development Program requirements of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is in pursuit of his architectural license.
