WASHINGTON — The Roof Coatings Manufacturers Association (RCMA) will host a webinar on volatile organic compound (VOC) regulations that govern architectural and industrial maintenance (AIM) coatings on Tuesday, June 18 at 2 p.m. EST.
The one-hour session will provide a comprehensive overview of the VOC regulations that affect the roof coatings industry, review the regulatory bodies of importance, and feature the latest updates on state and air district rule adoptions. Designed for VOC novices and veterans alike, the webinar is an opportunity for businesses to brush up on the knowledge necessary to be compliant with VOC regulations and prepare for future rule changes. The event will be free for all RCMA members, but pre-registration is required. The price for non-member registration is $50.
The webinar will provide background and updates on the California Air Resource Board (CARB), the Ozone Transport Commission (OTC), the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) and other relevant regulatory bodies. It will teach attendees the main features and differences of various AIM coatings rules, including the EPA National Rule, the OTC Phase I and Phase II Model Rules, the CARB 2000 and 2007 Suggested Control Measures (SCMs), and SCAQMD Rule 1113 and Rule 314. It will also share resources for staying current with the latest VOC regulations, such as the RCMA VOC regulation maps and the RCMA VOC Task Force.
