DEERFIELD
BEACH, Fla. – Polyglass U.S.A., Inc., a manufacturer of
modified bitumen membranes and roof coatings in the commercial and residential
roofing industry, has had two more roof products qualified by ENERGY STAR for
long-term reflective performance.
Newly listed POLYBRITE® 70 and PG 700 are
highly-reflective roof coatings and join POLYKOOL® Self Adhered modified bitumen
membrane on the ENERGY STAR list as part of Polyglass’ Kool Roof Solutions™ - a
group of Polyglass products designed with the environment in mind. POLYBRITE 70
and PG 700 are premium-grade, bright white, water-based elastomeric coatings
which cure to form a seamless membrane when applied properly applied over the
entire roof area. Both products offer the unique ability to extend the life
cycle of new and existing roof systems, in addition to keeping the surface cool,
providing protection from ultraviolet sun and other weather
exposures.
POLYBRITE 70 and PG 700 also
meet Cool Roof Rating Council standards for solar reflectance and thermal
emittance and are California Title 24
compliant. POLYBRITE 70 is also fire-rated
with its approvals listed in Factory Mutual and Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.
To be listed by ENERGY STAR requires products to have an initial solar
reflectivity of 65. After that is achieved, a product must maintain a
reflectivity of 50 after three years of exposure to the elements. Both POLYBRITE
70 and PG 700 achieved an initial solar reflectivity of 87 and a three year
solar reflectivity of
75.
“We are thrilled to have ENERGY STAR
recognize POLYBRITE 70 and PG 700 for their long-term performance,” said
Polyglass National Product Manager - Coatings, John Stubblefield. “Polyglass is
committed to developing advanced, value-added roofing solutions. These products
not only extend the
useful life of the roof, but can also reduce
energy costs by decreasing the roof surface
temperature.”
