BETHESDA, Md. - The EPDM Roofing Association (ERA) has launched a new section of its Web site (www.epdmroofs.org), “More than Green,” which spotlights roof projects that incorporate EPDM and have subsequently won awards and recognition for their environmental performance.
Organizations such as the U.S. Green Building Council and Green Roofs for Healthy Cities have honored a number of buildings that include EPDM in their roof systems, and these projects will be featured in the “More than Green” section of the ERA website. (www.epdmroofs.org/green/index.shtml).
The initial projects featured on “More than Green” are:
- The Residences of 900 Michigan Ave., winner of the Green Roofs For Healthy Cities 2008 Award of Excellence.
- The Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) is the world's first and only art museum whose entire facility received the Gold certification from the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
With more than 40 years of success as a roof system of choice for low slope applications, EPDM is the leading roofing choice of architects, roof consultants and contractors for both new construction and replacement roofing projects, with more than 20 billion square feet of EPDM roof installed on more than 500,000 warranted roofs.
