WAYNE, N.J. - GAF, a roofing and ventilation manufacturer, was most recommended among roofing manufacturers in the 2011 Residential Architect Design Awards (RADA), one of the largest existing design contests.
RADA is one of the few national design competitions judged by an independent jury of architects. This year’s contest drew in 824 entries in 15 categories, of which 40 were selected as winners. Judges evaluated projects based on ideas they felt advanced the design profession: new design; timeless concepts updated for today; admirable stewardship of the site and the planet’s limited resources; and technological innovation.
“We congratulate GAF for their accomplishment in this year’s Residential Architect Design Awards program,” said Jeff Calore, group publisher at Hanley Wood. “We know that architects are among the toughest customers to please, and GAF’s showing this year demonstrates it can meet even the highest standards in residential design and performance.” “We are thrilled to have been part of four of the winning projects in such a prestigious competition,” stated Ted Marcopolus, Vice President, Marketing Services at GAF. “The fact that architects are specifying GAF in industry-defining design plans is a testament to our high quality, innovative products.”
GAF was specified for inclusion on a multi-family property in Memphis, Tenn.; an affordable housing project in Chicago, Ill.; a light commercial property in Philadelphia, Pa.; and a multi-family property in Los Angeles, Calif.
