CENTRIA has signed a confidential
letter of intent to sell EnergyPeak to Metanna.
CENTRIA recently signed a confidential
letter of intent to sell EnergyPeak to Metanna, a newly formed metal roof/solar
integration company based in South
Bend, Ind. CENTRIA is an
international company and the leading supplier of architectural metal wall and
roof systems for commercial, institutional and industrial projects in the U.S.
Its CENTRIA Services Group division founded the EnergyPeak technology, which
designs standards for integrating photovoltaic laminates with standing seam
metal roofs.
“The
goal of CENTRIA Services Group is to identify and develop innovative
technologies for use in architectural metal wall and roof systems,” said Rick
Mowrey, Director, Business Development, CENTRIA. “When we developed the
EnergyPeak technology beginning in 2007, our objective was to advance the
efficient and affordable integration of solar technology with standing seam
metal roofing. Having accomplished that, our next objective was to promote the
adoption of building integrated photovoltaic systems throughout the standing
seam industry.
“In
the last few years we worked with the nation’s leading standing seam
manufacturers to make this innovative technology available to building owners
and architects,” Mowery continued. “Metanna is the next logical step in this
innovative technology’s long lifespan and the best opportunity for its
widespread adoption, making affordable solar energy more available on
50-year-long life metal roofs.”
