Sherwin-Williams to Present on Solving Construction Delays at Mega Facility Summit

April 9-10 in Houston

March 30, 2025

Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine announced its sponsorship of the upcoming Constructing Mega Facilities: Advances in Planning, Design and Engineering Summit. During the event, Mark Wafford, Sherwin-Williams Construction Solutions Executive for the Semiconductor industry, will share insights on how high-performance coating solutions can transform advanced manufacturing construction by making it safer, faster and simpler.

The Constructing Mega Facilities Summit, taking place April 9-10, 2025, in Houston, Texas, will address the critical issues in mega facility construction, including regulatory challenges, design optimization, sustainability practices and emerging technologies. Wafford’s presentation, “Coating Solutions for Advanced Manufacturing,” is scheduled for April 9 from 3:35 to 4:05 p.m.

“Our high-performance coating solutions are designed to simplify and accelerate mega facility construction,” said Wafford. “In these facilities, our tailored systems play a critical role in reducing construction timelines and ultimately helping increase a plant’s speed to production.”

According to a research study conducted by Sherwin-Williams, more than 87% of surveyed construction leaders identified construction delays as the most significant obstacle impacting advanced manufacturing facilities today. Wafford’s presentation will focus on solutions for this and other industry challenges based on:

  • Increased Safety: Shop-applied coatings that support off-site manufacturing, along with products that meet LEED certification and green building initiatives.
  • Increased Speed: Optimized project sequencing and construction schedules, ensuring critical path items are delivered on time.
  • Simplified Processes: Tailored, chemical-resistant coating systems designed to streamline construction workflows.

“As construction delays become increasingly common, mega facility owners need a construction partner that can make a measurable impact on both safety and efficiency,” said Wafford. “At Sherwin-Williams, we’ve delivered results for some of the largest manufacturing facilities, significantly streamlining construction processes.”
